San Diego Wedding Photographer – Chris & Mary are married!

My husband, Branden, and I were very much looking forward to Chris & Mary’s wedding.  The groom happens to be Branden’s best friend!  In fact, Chris, the groom, was the best man at our wedding so it was fitting that Branden got to be the best man today too.  Chris & Mary are such a fun, laid back couple and we’re lucky to call them both our friends.  It’s always fun watching people you care about grow into a great relationship together and being a part of their wedding was something that was so special to both of us.  I’m honored to have been their photographer but ultimately their friend.  Everyone has been waiting patiently to see a good preview form this amazing day so without further adieu, here are some of our favorites of Chris & Mary’s beautiful wedding.  We love you two and thank you so much for including us both in your special day!

A sunset ceremony lit only by candles didn’t give us much natural light but I love that we got a chance to catch a little bit of the super cool rainy sunset with the guys right before the ceremony.

It’s pretty rare for me to have to use artificial lighting for an entire wedding from the ceremony forward but the candlelit ceremony sure was pretty.

I love this one.  The candles make their first kiss something so warm and special.

Mary loves her job working her way up the ladder at Starbucks so they used their love of coffee as a little bit of it in their decor for the day.  Kinda fun!

I might be biased, he is my husband after all (the handsome fellow on the left there), but Branden really gave one of the BEST best mad speech I’ve ever heard.  Chris’ toast at our wedding was pretty special too.  We have such fond memories all around and I hope that Chris and Mary do too!

Coming up next: Super Fun Photos from the “Elder Booth!”  Chris & Mary’s photobooth was a blast!

Special thanks to my wonderful second shooter, Nancy Orozco, for her help throughout the day.

Jeff & Jamie’s Exciting Year

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

While we’re at it, here’s a belated Merry Christmas for y’all too!  I have to share this session before it’s way too far from the holidays and I turn into the blogging version of the annoying neighbor who keeps their Christmas lights up until July.  I had a good reason for keeping this under wraps until a little after Christmas since my awesome friends Jeff & Jamie used their Christmas portrait session to tell their loved ones about the amazing year they had in 2012 which included not only Jamie obtaining her dream job and buying a home with her husband, Jeff, but also they wanted to announce that they’re having a baby!  I couldn’t be happier for these two.  You may remember them from their engagement and wedding photos awhile back.  We’ve since become great friends and I’m thrilled to have been trusted with their top secret announcement.  I love you two and wish you the happiest, healthiest pregnancy ever.  I’m wishing for a little ginger baby to take after Jamie.  How can you not love her red hair & freckles?  She’s pretty great all around, as is Jeff, so I’m sure their little addition will be just as incredible and I absolutely cannot wait to meet little Baby Snyder!  Congratulations Guys!

Southern California Wedding Photographer – Chris & Mary are engaged!

I know. I know that I’ve been a big-time blogging slacker.  There are some interesting ups and downs in running a business single-handedly and this Fall put me to the test a number of times.  I took a little blogging break to make sure I could be there for my wonderful clients and keep my head by spending some quality time with family over the holidays so far.  But I’m thrilled to return to blogging with this engagement session.  Chris and Mary are such a great couple.  The more I get to know them the more I truly enjoy their company.  Chris happens to be my husbands childhood best friend.  He was the best man in our wedding and Branden will be his best man very soon.  These two are special to us and I’m honored to be the one to photograph their wedding in just about a week!  I can’t believe it’s so close now!

Chris proposed to Mary on this very pier so it was a perfect place to start off their engagement session.  Unfortunately we were there maybe ten minutes and then the rain blew in with a vengeance…and not the cute romantic kind of rain, but instead the torrential downpour leaving us so wet we looked like drowned rats with clothes needing to be wrung out, see-thru sweaters, drenched hair…the whole shebang!  What a crazy day.  It rained again when we rescheduled so for now we’re going to show off some of my favorite photos from our cut-short session.  All is well because I still love what we managed to work with in such a short amount of time.  Chris, Mary, I hope you love them too!  Thanks for being such amazing sports!  We love you two!

I love these moody skies!  We should have known it was about to pour!

Can’t wait for their cozy December wedding at the end of this month!  The countdown is on!
