Katie and Derek…aren’t they just so pretty!?! Both of them! Seriously, I want to put photos of these two all over my house just so I can look at them all the time. Let’s forget about the fact that we’re all just getting to know each other, that’s beside the point. I don’t think I would ever get sick of photographing these two. They’re so easy to be around and just so natural together. Katie and Derek are a faith-driven couple that I can respect whole-heartedly. They were friends first and let love take root slowly, over time. I think some of the best relationships begin as just friends. Mine and my own husband started out that way and I think there’s really something to a slow progression of love. There’s no need to rush love. When it’s meant to be, it will happen in its own time. The Big Guy Upstairs always has better plans for our lives than we do for ourselves anyway! Just go with it! I could keep talking about how great these two are but I’d rather just show you. I love them together. This just might be one of my favorite engagement sessions so far and I only wish I had met them before they found a different wedding photographer! Either way, I hope you both have a wedding day that is absolute perfection and I cannot wait to see photos of the spectacular event I know Liz (Katie’s best friend) is planning ; )

Katie & Derek love the outdoors and just wanted to be outside somewhere beautiful. Check! I want to marry this light. Over and over again.

I decided to try something a little different for me with this next duo of photos. I wanted to photographing them separately in a way I could put them together later. I kind of like it!
