Have you ever had a person in your life who somehow you’ve known for years without actually knowing them at all? Susan is one of those people. We went to the same high school but didn’t know each other. We have a number of mutual friends and knew each other’s names enough to say, “Oh hey!” in passing but somehow we never really got to know one another. Throughout the years we would run into each other on occasion and say hello and go about our ways. It’s a shame really because now that I have spent some time with Susan, I’m hooked! Apparently we’re two halves of the same person. If I would have known just how awesome she was years ago, I would have made it a point to spend a heck of a lot more time with her. Susan’s husband-to-be, Thomas, laughed at us throughout the day of their engagement session because every 5 minutes we found a new thing we had in common. I look forward to spending a lot more time with both of these wonderful people in the future. It just so happens that part of my job includes making new friends, and I for one, am a huge fan. Susan, Thomas, I think you’ll agree when I say that I think this is just the beginning of our newfound friendship!
Speaking of beginnings…these two crazy kids are getting married and I’m super excited for their wedding at Star Ranch. It’s going to be so much fun! We had a blast shooting off in the woods of Yorba Linda (no really, we totally have wildlife around these parts!), the Orange Circle and finally, Balboa. I think my cheeks have new, permanent smile lines from laughing so hard during this engagement shoot. Looking at some of these photos has my cheeks hurting again just thinking about how much fun it is to be around these two. I’m not the only one, see?

I’m obsessed with these trees.

I never tire of shooting in the Orange Circle.

One of Susan & Thomas’ favorite date spots is Balboa Island and we we’re pleasantly surprised when the sun peeked out for a few minutes just for us.

I really am so excited for your wedding and so genuinely happy for your upcoming marriage. It’s been a blast getting to know you and I really can’t wait to spend more time with both of you!
