I can’t believe this week went by so fast! This was definitely the MOST productive spring break ever. Branden and I worked together to get a ridiculous number of things crossed off my ever growing to-do list. Or rather LISTS. I have several. It’s what I do. I live for lists. I can be messy at times, but never ever will you find me unorganized. There’s method to my madness, of that I can assure you. The two main lists in my life at the moment are for my photography business and my wedding. Both require a ton of work, but I’m up for the challenge, especially when it means I get to cross things off a list. Is there any bigger thrill in life? I think not. I love that feeling of accomplishment I get when I finish something. Whether it’s a great photoshoot, a finished painting, flipping the last page of a good book, or any little mundane daily task, I love the feeling of completion. That little stroke of my pen as I draw a line through that chore is a small expression, a teeny thrill or feeling like I did something worthwhile. It doesn’t take much really, life is about the little things.
This past week we bought Branden’s wedding ring, decided on the rest of the wedding party’s attire, found enough lights so our guests can actually see what they’re eating and who they’re dancing with, got our taxes done, bought new tires and had the alignment fixed for my car (which was loooooong overdue), and so much more. And we still found some time to have a little fun.
Since I was stuck at home studying for a couple of brutal midterms for my birthday, we decided to take a day trip to the Carlsbad Flower Fields over spring break to celebrate. Branden and I had a blast spending the day with my best friend, Sharon and her boyfriend, Percy. I don’t get to spend enough time with those two so this was a fabulous day. We had so much fun frolicking around the flower fields, telling horrible jokes and catching up on time lost. I love my friends. I love flowers. I love life. The super fab outlet shopping center right next to the flower fields wasn’t bad either. Fossil outlet (my fave!) = a new bag and a fun yellow scarf for me. Happy Belated Birthday to me!
Because pictures make any blog better, here are some of my favorite shots from the flower fields…and a slideshow (ooooh!)

Great job Melissa! The two “blurred” pictures look more like paintings than photographs
. It ALWAYS feels good to cross stuff of lists…keep up the good work.

Ahhh I'm soo jealous of your little trip to the flower fields, that's what I need after the tiring moving stuff and all! Even looking at the photos brightened my soul in the middle of morning, taking a break from filling my orders (already late on those).. Wonderful shots, amazing! Hugs..
