Bath Time…Yeah! And other fun stuff from the weekend

I had a really really great weekend.  Nothing monumental happened but my little brother and his family came out from Arizona for an impromptu visit.  Luckily, I didn’t have anything scheduled this weekend so I was able to spend as much time as possible with my super adorable little nephew, Cody, whom I haven’t seen in over a year!  A year is way too long when they’re just little ones, they grow so fast!  I was so happy when the little guy warmed up to me right away and I filled my weekend with little baby nephew hugs and loves.  It was great.  We even gave him a bath.  See?  I can’t believe how huge he’s gotten, it’s ridiculous.  I wish I got to spend more time with this kid.  I’ve missed him so much and now that he’s been gone for only a matter of hours, I miss him again.  Hint hint Little Brother…MOVE BACK TO CALIFORNIA!  I would like to be the cool aunt who spoils her nephew silly.  Let’s work on that shall we?

Bath time…yeah!  Cody seemed to enjoy the largest bathtub known to man in my mom’s master bedroom.  He splashed like crazy and I had so much fun watching him have fun in the tub.  So what if my camera got a little wet.

Here are my lovely Momma and my “little” brother, Shea.  It was so good to see him!  I’m excited that I’ll be getting to see everyone again this summer at my wedding!  Ha!  Just try to weasel out of that one.  They’re teasing us with the thought of moving back here, I hope it happens soon.

Here’s Mr. Cody again.  I caught him off-guard with my camera.  He hates to have his picture taken by anyone and runs away and cries, but I’m a professional.  I can deal!

Yeah, they’re adorable and HUGE nerds.  I love them.

Jumpity jump.

And lastly, me and my bro.  I don’t think we’ve taken a photo together in years so this was nice to squeeze in.  Thanks Branden!  And our eyes look kind of amazing if I do say so myself.  I did nothing to them, I swear!  There’s an action or two on the entire photo but I really didn’t touch the eyes or skin specifically….I’m impressed with our good looks!  Haha!  I’ve never thought I looked like Shea until I saw this photo.  We are so obviously siblings, don’t you think?  When we were kids I always looked like my dad and Shea took after our mom.  Oh how the times have changed.  Now even the slightest smirk or body  language of Shea’s reminds me of my dad.  Spitting image, the tables have turned.

Thanks for humoring me with a family post!  I really did have a great time with them all and I can’t wait to see everyone again soon.

This weekend wasn’t just fun, it was also super productive.  I got completely caught up on photo editing and I officially have everything backed up on hard copies, and I finally got back into the gym today.  It was a success, I worked my butt off (hopefully literally) and had a “Topanga” sighting!  You remember her, right?  Danielle Fishell from Boy Meets World?  I watched it as a kid and she totally goes to my gym.  And shops at my supermarket.  And Costco.  Apparently she’s a local.  Anyway, today was my first time attempting some weight training and it went so well and felt sooooo good!  We’ll see how thrilled I am about the soreness I’m sure to endure tomorrow, but for now I’m just thankful to be able to do it at all and finally be on my way to regaining strength and muscle tone.  I want my flabby can’t-lift-anything-over-3-pounds-’cause-I-had-spine-surgery arms to look slammin’ by the time I have to spend a day in that wedding dress.  Being able to open a jar of spaghetti sauce without assistance would be fabulous as well.  I’m on my way!   I suppose I should mention “The Challenge” since I’ve been quite the slacker lately.  I got sick and it totally threw me off my game : (  I slacked for a bit even once I was feeling better but I’m back on track as of today and the challenge continues.  I’ll be buying some new jeans in no time.  My one pair is already starting to fall off but I’m not quite down to the next size so I’m stuck pulling them up all day long until then…and washing them way more often than usual trying to tighten those big boys up.  Hey, it sure beats the jeans-are-too-tight dance!  At the end of the weekend I even managed to get some serious homework time in.  Great weekend indeed!

How was your weekend?
