Happy Feet

WHAT. A. WEEK.  Ok, so we’re barely halfway through it, but I’m already exhausted.  I went back to school this week and although it’s been long and tiring, I cannot tell you all just how happy I am to be back on track, studying what I LOVE!  I’m going part-time again, but it’s already immensely better than the awful classes I took last semester.  The first class is a lower division art history survey class that slipped through the cracks when I transferred.  I’ve taken so many upper division courses on this same exact subject, I could teach this class.  It’s going to be the easiest A ever.  Plus, the professor is A-DOR-ABLE.  Seriously ladies, if I wasn’t engaged I might have a major crush on this man.  He’s the epitome of an artsy college professor.  Standing up there with his rugged mountain-man beard and his skinny tie and tight pants and corduroy sports coat, talking  passionately about art…*swoon!*  Then I have my Contemporary Latin American Art course, which is rad because it’s completely new to me and I’m so excited to learn about art I’ve never before encountered.  So far it’s been really interesting, full of behind-the-scenes politics and all that fun stuff.  But more on that later…we discussed something really interesting today that has inspired a whole different blog post…for another day when I have the clarity of thought to dig deep enough to tackle the subject.  We’ll get there, but for today, some lighter faire.

So…know what’s even better than taking classes I actually like?  The fact that one of the classes doesn’t even have a required textbook so the money I had alloted for books is free to be spent on much more fabulous things…like cute new shoes!  I mean, buying more cute & practical shoes IS on my yearly to do list.  I’m just accomplishing goals…that’s all!  Just try and argue with that!  I dare you.

My feet always hurt.  Always.  It’s ridiculous.  I should probably go see a podiatrist and get custom orthotics but I just can’t bring myself to add those kinds of medical bills to my plate at the moment.  So, instead I’ve been on the search for better shoes.  After buying my very first pair of ECCO brand shoes recently, I was hooked.  They’re a “comfort” brand, which usually would mean the shoes would be so hideous even my grandmother wouldn’t wear them, but not this time!  There is no hint whatsoever that they serve an orthopedic function and that is awesome.  The two pairs of ecco shoes that I already own are the most comfortable non-athletic shoes I’ve ever worn.  EVER.  Hands down, worth the higher price tag.  So I’m SO excited to add these two pairs of flats to my wardrobe!  The leather on these babies is like budd-ah!  It’s so soft, there’s no way you could ever get blisters or be rubbed the wrong way.  They have enough support to wear for a long time and walk around in without killing my back and they come in really great colors.  I couldn’t decide between the red and the yellow so I bought both.  I’m serious about these goals, People!  I swear, it’s like wearing super cute, colorful slippers and I am one happy girl.

These grey babies are one my other pairs I LOVE em!  Couldn’t find a pic of the other pair I own…but if you know me you’ve probably seen the teal mary janes that I’ve been wearing with everything lately.

Ok.  Thanks for indulging me.  I’ve been in the mood to shop lately and I finally get to do a little of it!  My next shopping trip will most likely be for a wedding dress…ahhhhhh!!!  Everything is coming along, it’s so exciting!
